Life-Stage Housing for Every Phase of Your Career

LOCATION: BOARD ROOM

Whether you’re a single person or a couple, a parent, an empty-nester, a retiree or looking for assisted living, or somewhere in-between, at the end of the day we all desire a comfortable, safe place to call home. With a large number of residents at both ends of the age spectrum, and plenty in between, the need for various housing choices in the Worcester region is vast.

This panel will discuss how communities build, facilitate, and encourage a range of life-stage housing from college student-friendly rooms, to a variety of apartments and starter homes, to in-law apartments, and residences offering assistance with daily living.

Because our needs change as we enter each of life’s stages, a life-stage approach to housing development provides a plethora of perspectives on homes which meet the needs of local residents at every stage of life. Having an adequate housing supply for each life stage is crucial to a community’s economic stability and quality of life for its residents. This session will explore the trends in housing at all stages of our lives and will discuss where the Worcester region stands with regard to housing choices.
